Working with Business Views

A business
view is a collection of external resources (e.g. database resources, email
resources, XML resources etc.). To access any external resource from a form,
the form must first be associated with the corresponding business view.
Once a business view has been created, it can be used by any number of forms,
integration services or workflow processes.
A business
view can be created or edited using the business view editor. This is opened
either by clicking once on an existing business view in the hierarchy tree
panel (IT Elements -> Business Views) or from the file menu (File
-> New -> Business View)
To add
resources to the business view, click the icon and select the resource(s) from the
dropdown list (Hold down the CTRL key for multiple selections, or the SHIFT key
to select a range). A resource can also be added to a business view from the
resource editor by clicking the
icon on the resource editor toolbar. To delete
resource(s), first select them, then click the
icon .
The input
and output checkboxes can be used to constrain the scope of operations which
can be performed.
The resource
type and description fields have been copied from the external resource
definition and are shown for information only. They cannot be changed.
